Wilsey Birdies 18 to Claim 2026 Fifty Cent Classic at Stony Creek

The Mulligan Tour’s Eastern Division closed out a loaded weekend at Stony Creek Metropark in Shelby Township on Sunday, June 28th, and it delivered a finish worthy of the occasion. The 2026 Fifty Cent Classic came down to three players, a scoreboard that wouldn’t break, and a pivotal moment on the 18th tee that separated the champion from the field. When the dust settled, Scott Wilsey had his name on the trophy with a net 70 (-2) — one of the finest rounds of the season on a par-72 layout that doesn’t give anything away. A gross 79 featuring four birdies and an eagle tells the whole story: Wilsey had his game, and when the moment arrived, he made the most of it.

The race was tight from the beginning. John Ferlito, Scott Wilsey, and Chuck Withey all reached the turn at -1 and traded shots down the stretch in a three-way duel that had the feel of a heavyweight bout going into the late rounds. As Wilsey and Withey stood on the 18th tee with Ferlito a group behind — all three still knotted at -1 — the hole made the decision for them. Wilsey’s tee shot found the fairway. Withey’s ball bounced off a cart path and settled behind trees, forcing a sideways punch-out and effectively ending his bid for the lead. With Wilsey’s approach finding the green and Withey scrambling for par, the door was open — and Wilsey walked right through it with a closing birdie, signing for his net 70 and setting the target at -2. Ferlito, playing behind them and needing a birdie to force a playoff or an eagle to win outright, could only manage par on 18. Wilsey was the champion.

Ferlito and Withey finished tied for second at net 71 (-1), splitting $20.50 apiece — a result that stings slightly more for Withey given what might have been on 18, but a strong weekend for both. Mike Wassman finished fourth at net 72 (E) for $8.50, with Paul Parent fifth at net 73 (+1). Jonathan Barnes claimed sixth at net 74 (+2) and also pocketed the CTP on hole 7 for $20 MT account credit. Tom Moran grabbed the $10 cash CTP on hole 17. Rich Dunmore and Mike Lee tied for sixth alongside Barnes, each earning $3.50, with Tom Moran ninth at net 75 (+3) for $1.50 and Chris Dunmore rounding out the paid positions in tenth at net 76 (+4) for fifty cents — exactly as the tournament demands.

The result reshuffles the money race in meaningful ways heading into the final stretch. Wilsey’s win vaults him to second place on the overall money list, keeping him in strong position to be in the conversation for the Money Title. Meanwhile, Chuck Withey’s two top-four finishes this weekend — T4 at the C Cool Classic and second here at Stony Creek — push him to the top of the money list in a strong bid to defend his 2025 season title. The Mulligan Tour now looks ahead to a big stretch: next weekend brings the Red, White, and Blue at Taylor Meadows to celebrate the nation’s 250th birthday, followed by the rescheduled Quad-Tour Challenge at Fox Creek on Sunday — and then it’s Match Play week at Huron Meadows. The bracket is nearly set. The season is entering its championship phase. And right now, Scott Wilsey is feeling every bit like a player who knows how to close.
