Greg Kline Completes Tri-fecta

Greg Kline became the first Tour player to have won all three division championships in his career on Sunday. After 5 runner up finishes in the late oughts and early teens, including an epic 15 hole playoff loss to the GodFather, Tom Sachs, and 21 years after his first try, Kline got the job done at Washtenaw Golf Club. Kline made 3 birdies in the middle of the back nine to get the lead away from Chuck Withey and Mike Prieskorn and made a strategically executed par on the 18th to secure the win at 1 over par 73. Prieskorn and Withey tied for 2nd at 2 over par 74. Phillip Parent and yesterday’s winner Jeff Klipa tied for 4th at 76 4 over par.

Notables: Withey had 5 birdies and an eagle and tied Prieskorn for low putts at 32. Helen Puffenberger hit 10 fairways. Prieskorn, Klipa and Scott Wilsey had chip-ins. Withey scored his 100th Top-4 Finish on Tour. Jeff Klipa finished in the money to hold on to 3rd in all-time players winnings. Kline padded his #1 position. Kline gets his 11th career Major win and first Major since 2012.

For Greg this is his 28th Tour win (2nd all-time) in his 380th start.
