Experience Pays for Hesse at TC

Willi Hesse shot a clean card 33 on the Falcon back nine at Pine Knob to secure a Back to Back Tour Championship win.  Willi plays the course regularly and experience paid off as he carded nothing higher than a 6 on the Eagle front nine and nothing higher than a par 5 on the back. Willi’s 2 under par 70 topped runner-up Chris Stalo by 4 shots. Erika Fitzpatrick took 3rd at 6 over par 78 and Jeff Klipa, Stewart Levine, Ryan Doak and Tim Markel all tied for 4th at 7 over par 79.

Notables: ‘Tuna’ Theunissen led with 30 putts. Mike Lee led with 12 fairways to 11 for Tom W Litzler and 10 each for Helen Puffenberger and the winner Hesse. Fitzpatrick retakes the #1 world ranking from Tyler Floyd after only 2 weeks.  Tim Markel finished in the money and moved to 4th in all-time Tour Championship winnings.

Hesse moves to 5th in all-time TC winnings and gets his 10th Tour victory and 6th Major win in 293 starts.
