In a 25 year first for the Ugly Pants Open, the event went to overtime with Tyler Floyd, Defending Champ Paul Parent and Ugly Pants winner Phil Parent all tied at 2 over par 72. Tyler birdied his 16th hole to hit the number and Phil birdied and Paul eagled their 18th hole to match Tyler. In the playoff, all three started with a bogey on the opening hole of 4. Tyler and Phil got an edge on the 2nd hole and were tied going to the final hole, where Tyler sunk the final putt for a walk off birdie. Michael Thacker took 4th at 3 over par 73. On course prize went to Don Ward and Dave Oliver earned the final West Division Skins Game invitation of the year.Â
Notables: Don Ward led with 29 putts. Winner Floyd hit 12 greens to Helen Puffenberger’s 10. Thacker got 4 birdies and 2 eagles. Greg Kline and Ward had chip-ins and Patrick Patterson recorded 2. Greg Kline finished in the money to hold the 4th all-time winnings place, just ahead of Tyler Floyd who moved to 5th place, behind all-time leader Barb Hoelzle. Tyler gets his 10th win in 107 starts and matches Eric Birkle with 4 wins for the season.Â
