Nancy Hiestand booked 3 birdies at the turn holes 9,10 and 11 and started tasting the salsa. But Jeff Pasz birdied four of the final five holes including the 18th to rally for a tie with Hiestand at 4 under par 68. The event went to a toughly laid out 4 hole aggregate playoff. Hiestand managed 2 pars on the first and last holes to finally grab the salsa from Pasz who could only collect 1 par. Phillip Parent took 3rd at 3 under par 69 and Rich Dunmore was 4th at 2 under par 70.
On course prizes went to Phil Parent and Erika Fitzpatrick. Notables: Pasz led with 11 greens hit and logged his 10th 2nd place finish of his career. Helen Puffenberger and Ken Westerman hit 11 fairways to 10 for Ron Hiestand and Scott Wilsey. Dunmore had 7 birdies and an eagle. Pasz and Phil Parent had 7 birdies the winner Nancy had 6 birdies and a chip-in. Tommy O’Neill and Jonathan Barnes had chip-ins also. Barnes led with 27 putts to Phil Parent’s 29 and Barnes finished in the money with a round of 15 pars and 3 bogeys. Nancy gets her 2nd win in a week and is the 4th different woman to win the Little Diablo Western Swing.
This is her 4th Tour win in 63 starts.
